The Chiefs history is steeped in Te Ao Māori culture, so we drew inspiration from the strong display of culture in Black Panther. 

There are also parallels with the deeply rooted traditions of Chiefs country, making this a great choice to connect our communities, players and fans. Fans will notice the niho of the taniwha displayed across the jersey as a representation of teeth and claws.
